Welcome to Claxton Country Squares!

Country Squares (CS) is a square dance club in the Western Square Dance tradition. We are one of East Tennessee's finest Square Dance Clubs located near Knoxville, Oak Ridge, Clinton, and the beautiful Smoky Mountains.
​
We welcome dancers at all levels. Our goal is to provide a time and place for all to enjoy dancing in a friendly and welcoming environment.
​
Dances are held on the first and fourth Saturday of the month at the First United Methodist Church (directions). Our caller, Mike Hoose, is one of the best square dance callers and instructors in the United States. Come and join the fun!

OUR NEW LOCATION!!

Starting in March of 2026, we will be meeting in our new location!
​
First United Methodist Church is located at 1350 Oak Ridge Turnpike, in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. (directions)
​
There is a limited amount of parking on the west side of the church with additional parking available behind the Chamber of Commerce. (Be sure NOT to park in the nearby Lutheran church parking lot. To do so might cause your vehicle to be towed.)
​
Dances and lessons will be in the gymnasium. Enter the building through the door located on the west side of the rear of the building.
​
As we will no longer be meeting in Claxton, our club will now be know simply as the Country Squares.
PLUS CLASSES BEGINNING IN MARCH
Our mainstream lessons conclude the last week in February at our Claxton location.
​
Plus classes will start on March 2, at our new location in Oak Ridge.
​
Students who have graduated from mainstream as well as anyone who has completed mainstream and would like to take a refresher course are encouraged to take advantage of this.
​
Mike Hoose will be your teacher. The cost will be $6.00 per lesson.
